Reality capture for brownfield as-built documentation, retrofit and revamp design support, clash detection, and complete plant as-built packages — without disrupting your operations.
In existing industrial plants — refineries, power stations, chemical plants, and manufacturing facilities — accurate as-built drawings rarely exist. Modifications over decades leave original drawings obsolete. We deploy terrestrial LiDAR to capture the complete as-built geometry of the plant: pipework, structural steelwork, equipment platforms, tanks, and civil structures. This comprehensive as-built record is the starting point for any brownfield retrofit or revamp project.
Once as-built geometry is in hand, our point cloud and BIM models provide the precise geometric base for retrofit engineering. New equipment can be positioned in the model, access routes verified, and structural modifications designed — all against the accurate existing geometry. This dramatically reduces field rework caused by clashes between new designs and unrealised site conditions. Retrofit projects that previously required weeks of site measurement can be started from our scan-derived dataset within days.
Federated BIM model clash detection between new design elements and the existing plant geometry, identified before fabrication or installation. We run hardclash and softclash analyses and produce clash reports with spatial coordinates, element IDs, and recommended resolution actions. Resolving clashes in a model costs a fraction of resolving them on site — particularly in high-hazard industrial environments.
We produce complete plant documentation packages for asset handover, maintenance management, and regulatory compliance: as-built piping and equipment layout drawings correlated against scan geometry, equipment register with spatial coordinates, structural models, and piping isometrics. These packages serve as the definitive reference for ongoing operations, maintenance planning, and future modification projects.
